Tracking a warm and breezy weekend

Clear and cool conditions Friday night will give way to a warm and breezy weekend, as southerly winds and periods of sunshine promote above average temperatures. Low 60s late Friday afternoon will be followed by 50s and 40s overnight, with mostly clear skies and light winds. A cool start to Saturday will give way to a rapid warm-up with afternoon highs reaching the low to mid 70s and partly to mostly sunny skies. Southerly winds will pick up after the lunch hour on Saturday, sustained at 15 to 25 mph, with occasional gusts up to 30 mph. Sunday will bring even warmer conditions, as afternoon highs reach the low to mid 80s with partly to mostly sunny skies and westerly winds at 10 to 20 mph. A cold front will pass through the region late Sunday, bringing an increase in cloud cover and a slight chance of showers through early Monday morning. Mainly dry and seasonable conditions will return for the start of next week, with highs in the mid 60s Monday and Tuesday.
