Tracking chilly nights and mild days

A clear and cool Monday afternoon will give way to a chilly night with subfreezing temperatures likely across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas by early Tuesday morning. Freeze warnings are in effect along and south of the Highway 36 corridor from 12 AM to 9 AM Tuesday, cold sensitive vegetation should be protected with scattered to widespread frost possible. Clear skies will remain tonight, with light winds and overnight lows in the lows 30s to upper 20s. Sunshine will continue on Tuesday with afternoon highs warming into the low 60s and southerly winds of 10 to 20 mph. A weak low pressure system will promote increasing cloud cover Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Aside from a 20% chance of stray showers early Wednesday morning, dry conditions and above average temperatures will prevail through mid to late week.
