Tracking a cloudy and showery late week

Cool and cloudy conditions will linger across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas Thursday evening, ahead of returning rain chances forecast to develop overnight and continue through much of Friday.

Overcast skies and mainly dry conditions this evening will give way to a 40% chance of showers late tonight. Low temperatures will fall into the lower 40s with light easterly winds at 5 to 10 mph.

Showers will become more widespread Friday, with a 70% chance of rain through the day. Afternoon highs will remain cool, reaching the upper 40s to low 50s across the region. Light easterly winds will increase after lunchtime gusting to 20 mph late in the day.

Cloud cover and rain chances are forecast to linger into early Saturday morning, before drier conditions and peaks of sunshine develop later in the day. Below average temperatures will continue into Saturday with highs once again reaching the low 50s.
