Tracking a cool and dry start to the week

Overcast skies and chilly air will linger across the region Sunday evening and into Sunday night. Low temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 30s late, with northwest breezes at 15 to 25 mph.

Cloudy skies early Monday will give way to peaks of sunshine for the afternoon, with highs warming to the mid to upper 50s and northerly winds at 10 to 15 mph.

Warm and windy conditions are forecast to develop Tuesday as a low pressure system approaches the area. Scattered strong storms will be possible late Tuesday afternoon, continuing through the evening hours. The primary hazards with any storms that develop will be sizable hail and damaging wind gusts.
