Tornado watch canceled locally

The tornado watch originally scheduled to remain in effect until 9 p.m. tonight has been canceled for points west of interstate 35 including the St. Joseph area.

A tornado watch remains in effect for points along and east of interstate 35 until midnight.

Heavy rain, gusty winds, and sizable hail will be the primary hazards for Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas through Sunday morning. A flood watch remains in effect for Buchanan county and surrounding areas through Sunday afternoon.
