Multi-day severe weather threat anticipated Friday and Saturday

Multiple rounds of thunderstorm activity will pose two separate threats for severe weather across Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas over the next 48 to 72 hours, the first arriving on Friday afternoon and the second expected to develop Saturday evening.

Here’s the latest on what to expect:

ROUND 1:

TIMING: 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday

THREAT LEVEL: 3 (of 5)

HAZARDS: Sizable hail, damaging winds, a few tornadoes (some strong)

ROUND 2:

TIMING: 7 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday

THREAT LEVEL: 3 (of 5)

HAZARDS: Sizable hail, damaging winds, isolated tornadoes, flash flooding

Be sure to remain weather aware through the threat period, and have a reliable way to receive warnings should they be issued.
