As training camp nears an end in St. Joseph this summer, despite extreme heat and rainy days, some fans have made it to more than a handful of practices.

Training camp has been underway in St. Joseph for four weeks now, and many fans who came out to training camp Wednesday afternoon have been frequent flyers.

One St. Joseph resident has made it out to Chiefs camp six times this summer, through the warm and cooler days.

“It’s been a good experience for me and my buddy every single day,” said Chiefs fan Max Foster. “There were definitely some days where the weather didn’t feel too nice, but I’ve made my way out here a lot and got many autographs. In my opinion, the less busy it is, the better.”

Another fan who has been out to camp 10 times had an even greater chance of adding to their autographed gear collection and meeting some of the Chiefs players and other celebrities who made their way out to camp.

“This ball I’m holding has over 30 signatures,” said Nicholas Bouiler, a Chiefs fan. “I’ve made my way out here at least three days every week, and it’s been worth it. It’s been cool meeting all the different players, but I also got former NBA player Rasheed Wallace to sign my ball today, too so, I’m living the dream.”

News-Press NOW stopped and asked KC Wolf how many times he’s made his way out to the training camp this year, and it was more than he could count.

But while many have been tallying up how many times they can make their way out to training camp before it comes to an end, for some, it’s just about making those first-time memories.

“It’s a pretty cool experience I’ll remember for the rest of my life,” said Chiefs fan Marshall Palmer. “Just coming out here with my friend, having a good time, getting some free stuff and winning some prizes. It’s fun for any fan to experience. I’m still hoping for my Patrick Mahomes signature, though.”

Fans will have the opportunity to make lifelong memories once more at the final day of training camp on Thursday, Aug. 15, which is Military Appreciation Day.
