Training camp attendees talk about why Arrowhead Stadium stands out

Chiefs fans are used to the capricious weather at Arrowhead Stadium, so Monday’s rain didn’t stop supporters from showing out at training camp in St. Joseph.
The energy stayed high despite the rain. Chiefs fan Laura Barber talked about her experience at camp Monday amid the drizzle.
“Wet,” Barber said. “It’s been great, the players were very kind when walking by, we went up to the fence, but it was very nice to see them all.”
While fans have endured extreme heat throughout much of training camp, there have also been cooler days like Monday. The fluctuating weather conditions of camp are mirrored throughout the season. Early Chiefs games can see triple digits, and then the season can end below zero.
Regardless of the weather, the fans will show up and create the expected lively atmosphere.
“There’s something about Arrowhead. The fans, the energy is just great,” said Chiefs fan Andy Arther. “Best stadium I have been to. I have been to (the) Super Bowl, been to playoff games, but I love Arrowhead the best.”
While Chiefs games are Arrowhead’s main attraction, concerts and other events come through, too.
“I have gone to a couple of great concerts at Arrowhead,” Barber said. “I took my kids about 10 years ago but coming from Nebraska, we have to be Chiefs fans.”
Younger Chiefs fans Max Floster and Levi Maddocks both said one big thing sticks out about Arrowhead.
“It was loud,” Floster said. “It was just crazy.”
“It was loud, loudest stadium I have ever been to,” Maddocks said. “Loudest stadium I have ever been to.”
