Training camp draws season ticket holders

Chiefs training camp was closed to the general public Wednesday, but season ticket members showed their support ahead of the first preseason game this weekend.
Fans were excited to come out and support the Chiefs before their first preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Saturday.
Self-proclaimed “Retro Fan” Clyde Chafin has been a season ticket holder for the past three decades, and has been a fan of the team for even longer.
“Thirty-plus years,” Chafin said. “You know, I bought tickets before that, but never a season ticket. So, finally one year I just decided I’m getting season tickets. And then like the very next week, oh, we got Joe Montana. So, I’m thinking, I better keep these now. So, that’s the way that worked.”
Chafin said he has high hopes for the Chiefs this year, citing their impressive lineup.
“Oh I think they’re gonna roll it again,” Chafin said. “I mean, you got the best coach, you got the best quarterback, you got the best tight end, you got the best defensive coach, best special teams coach. I mean, you add it up, they’re gonna be in the playoffs for sure. You know, and it’s gonna be tough to beat ‘em. If you were another team, would you wanna play these guys? No, not at all.”
The Chiefs will take a brief break from training camp for the rest of the week in preparation for their game against the Jaguars. Training camp will pick back up Monday and will continue through Thursday, Aug. 15.
