Fans try for autographs from their favorite Chiefs players at training camp

The heat didn’t stop eager fans from flooding the sidelines Monday as they waited for autographs from some of their favorite players at training camp.
While some fans kept their eyes glued to the field during training camp, others spent the entire time getting just the right spot to get close enough to players like Patrick Mahomes and Isiah Pacheco.
A young Kansas City Chiefs fan was able to get her jersey signed by Pacheco after a 30-minute wait in the sun.
“This is so exciting,” said Paris McKinney, a Chiefs fan. “It doesn’t matter how hot it is out here. Pacheco is my favorite player. I’m never going to wash this, never give it away and keep it in my special box.”
In a crowd of fans hoping to get the attention of Pacheco and many other key players, one super fan got lucky multiple times.
It was tough for Kansas City Chiefs players Pacheco, Kadarius Toney and Rashee Rice to not recognize one fan holding a flashy Super Bowl 58 championship belt awaiting signatures.
“I’ve been a fan forever,” said Chiefs fan Stanley Teske. “I won this belt last year after their big win. When I was growing up, I didn’t have a TV at first, so we’d have to listen to football over the radio and now I’m a disabled veteran and I can kind of come to the games every once in a while.”
For hundreds of fans, Monday was nothing short of exciting, and while some didn’t get the autograph they were hoping for, it was still a successful day at training camp rooting for their favorite team.
With more weeks of training camp ahead, super fans will be waiting in the same spots, aiming to get their footballs, jerseys and other fan gear signed from a Kansas City Chief.
“It would have been so awesome to see Mahomes,” said fan April Parrish. “That’s who I came here wanting a signature from, but it’s okay. I’m not giving up; I’ll get one from him eventually before camp ends.”
The Chiefs will have another day of practice at training camp on Wednesday, July 31, at 9:15 a.m.
