Dozens of kids traveled across different states including Missouri, Arkansas and Iowa to root for their favorite Kansas City Chief players at training camp Tuesday morning.

Football attracts a wide variety of fans — young and old — and several kids traveled from near and afar to see their favorite players and hopefully catch a few autographs.

Bryson Garlich, 10, traveled with his family from Lee’s Summit, Missouri, to have his football autographed by as many players as possible.

“I just got my first autograph of the day from Joe Thuney,” he said. “I’m hoping to get a signature from Nick Bolton on this (right) side and Travis Kelce on the other.”

Other young Kansas City Chiefs fans traveled a bit farther to make it to training camp. Remington Wade, 7, came from Stuttgart, Arkansas, to see his favorite player, Patrick Mahomes.

“I’ve been a fan of the Chiefs forever,” Wade said. “I have family that lives here in Missouri and they’re really big fans of Patrick Mahomes so it made me become a fan myself. He’s inspiring to me because he helped our team start winning, so I hope I’m able to meet him today and tell him that I want to be just like him.”

Kids from Iowa and other cities within Kansas shared their excitement to see key players, including Isaiah Pacheco, Harrison Butker and Trent McDuffie.

Whether it’s rooting for Mahomes or Kelce, each of these young fans walked away inspired and happy to experience watching the reigning Super Bowl champions alongside their new teammates, training for another season as they take a shot at becoming Super Bowl champions once again.

“It was my first time being here with my family and it’s so awesome,” said Nyauana Dougherty. “The Kansas City Chiefs are the best team around right now. They’ve won so many Super Bowls and I don’t see that stopping anytime soon.”

Training camp will continue through Aug. 15, with several special event days throughout the schedule.
