Monday’s training camp practice brought hundreds of Chiefs season ticket members to Missouri Western State University.

Chiefs training camp kicked off Sunday, but Monday was exclusive to season ticket members. And one thing is for certain about these fans — they are loyal to the team.

“I’ve been a Chiefs fan since I was a kid, maybe 7, 8, 9, 10 … somewhere in that area,” said Kevin Stone. “My parents always watched the Chiefs games growing up, so just kinda grew up watching them, and obviously, now look at us now.”

Dee Shelton has been a fan since the 80s, and despite some rough years for the Chiefs, she said she’ll always stick with her favorite team.

“We went through some years that it was a little lean,” Shelton said. “But we’re so glad we stayed as members and we’re not gonna ever not be members.”

Shelton said watching the Chiefs play a Super Bowl in Miami was a big moment for her and her family.

“We went to the Super Bowl that we won … and it was so much fun after so many years of not winning a Super Bowl,” Shelton said. “It was a highlight of our life.”

Training camp continues through Aug. 15, with several special event days throughout the schedule. Family Fun Day is next in line on Saturday, July 27.
