Chiefs touch down in KC after triumphant Super Bowl win

The Kansas City Chiefs made their return to the area on Monday night after their rousing victory in Super Bowl 58.
The United flight from Las Vegas arrived during golden hour, a little later than originally scheduled. But all was well from the flight, and the pilot waved a Chiefs flag from the cockpit window.
The organization was greeted by Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas, who served as the aircraft’s honorary marshal.
There were two planes that arrived in KCI, the first carrying friends and family of players on the team and the other carrying players and coaching staff, along with precious hardware.
Head coach Andy Reid, who had the Lombardi Trophy in hand, was the first one out, leading the Chiefs onto the tarmac.
Passengers exited the plane on the west side of the airport, near the old terminals. Most notably, the Super Bowl MVP and quarterback for the team, Patrick Mahomes, did not travel with the team on Monday. Instead, Mahomes visited Disneyland in Los Angeles with his family, a usual tradition for the MVP of the Super Bowl.
The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers by a final score of 25-22 after wide receiver Mecole Hardman caught the game-winning pass from Mahomes in overtime.
Now, a celebration with both players and Chiefs Kingdom will commence. The victory parade will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grand Boulevard and Sixth Street. A rally at Union Station will take place once the parade ends.
