Missouri Western senior Jonas Bennett led the Griffons in receptions and receiving yards in the 2024 season.

Missouri Western senior football player Jonas Bennett will attempt to make an impression at 1 Arrowhead Drive after receiving an invite to the Kansas City Chiefs local pro day.

An annual event, the former Odessa High School standout will be among several local prospects who will take to Kansas City on April 7 and take part in organized workouts in order to show off their skills to members of the Chiefs coaching staff ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.

A captain for the Griffs this past season, Bennett spent his first two seasons for Western as a running back before being converted to a wide receiver and punt returner to finish out his career. Bennett was an All-MIAA second team selection in 2024, in which he caught 90 passes for 905 yards, good for best on the team in the receiving category. The year prior, Bennett had 59 catches for 803 yards, also the best on the team that season.

The local pro day in Kansas City is meant for players who are either from or have played college football in the surrounding area. Last year, the Chiefs hosted 33 prospects for their local pro day.
