ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- This weekend, the Easter Bunny is making his way through St. Joseph and leaving plenty of treats and activities behind. It's time to hunt down some eggs and adventure in this week's edition of See St. Joseph.
To kick off the holiday weekend, the Museum Hill Neighborhood Association and the St. Joseph Museums are bringing back the classic St. Joseph tradition, Easter at the Mansion.
The Easter Bunny will be visiting the Wyeth Tootle Mansion and bringing the party with him. There’s going to be egg hunts, craft stations, face painting and even photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny himself. The event is completely free and an awesome memory for parents and the kids. The fun goes from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Wyeth Tootle Mansion, 1100 Charles St.
Now that the kid have had their fun, let the dogs have theirs! This weekend is the 18th annual Paws Only Egg Hunt.
The Easter Bunny doesn’t just cater to humans, he always leaves a little something for St. Joseph pups as well. There’s going to be hundreds of hidden Easter eggs filled with dog-friendly treats. All dogs must be on a leash and good-tempered with other dogs and people to participate in the fun. The free egg hunt begins 10 a.m. Saturday at Krug Park.
Before eating all that candy, it might be a good idea to get in a run with the Let’s Taco Bout It 5k and Walk.
When it comes to mental health, they’re are two things that are sure to help: exercise and talking about it. The Samaritan Counseling Center is hosting the race with this year’s focus on substance use and recovery. All participants will receive Narcan with a brief live instruction on how to use it as well as tacos. All profits raised will help to support the counseling center and its patients. The 5k begins 9 a.m. Saturday at the Bode Ice Arena. To register for the race, visit the website at runsignup.com.
