While the seasons may be changing, St. Joseph's weekend entertainment and activities are year-round. News-Press NOW's Kendra Simpson found some perfect ways to celebrate spring in this week's edition of See St. Joseph.

What better way to welcome the new season than with an afternoon of sipping some tea and painting flowers? Join Alchemy Tea for its guided Paint and Sip. Enjoy painting a beautiful creation of your own with the help of Sheila O’Meara. Tickets for the event cover all the supplies participants need including paint, a canvas and a drink from Alchemy Tea’s menu. The Paint and Sip goes from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Alchemy Tea, 617 Felix St. Tickets can be purchased online at alchemyteaco.com.

After supporting a local business, there's an opportunity to support a local nonprofit with the 2025 Empower Auction. Big Brothers Big Sisters helps kids by connecting them with mentors who help clear a path to a child’s biggest possible future. The annual auction honors charitable, passionate and hard-working individuals in the area. Along with celebrating those making a difference in our community, the event will feature live music, entertainment, inspiring mission moments and live and silent auctions. The 2025 Empower Auction is happening from 7 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, at inspireU, 521 Felix St. Tickets for the event can be purchased online at bbbsstjoe.betterworld.org.

The Saint Joseph Symphony is joining forces with the Benedictine College Chamber Singers and the Saint Joseph Community Chorus to bring residents an evening of music, legend and mystery. The groups will be performing Mozart’s iconic “Requiem,” highlighting what many feel is the composer’s most important work. Mozart began his work on “Requiem” on his deathbed before his student, Franz Xaver Sussmayr, completed the piece. The work is known for its haunting melodies, dramatic intensity and emotional depth. The performance will take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, at the Missouri Theater, 717 Edmond St. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at saintjosephsymphony.org.
