SEE ST JOE 2 12 2025.00_01_36_09.Still001
Time Out Event Center will host its first ever Mac N Cheese cookoff to show St. Joseph residents what a true Valentine's dinner really looks like.

St. Joseph is pulling out all the stops, from culinary delights to intimate concerts for Valentine's Day weekend. This week's edition of See St. Joseph has everyone's date night plans ready to go.

Nothing says love quite like jumping into freezing water in the dead of winter, all for the sake of others.

2025's Polar Plunge promises to be a memorable one, with freezing temperatures and snow to follow. Show your support for Special Olympics Missouri athletes by walking, running or even crawling into frigid waters. Polar Plunge 2024 raised more than $33,800 for Special Olympics, however, St. Joseph can top that this year.

All participants must raise at least $75 by plunge day. The Polar Plunge begins at noon on Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Aquatic Park, located at 402 S. Noyes Blvd. To register for Polar Plunge 2025, visit https://somo.org/plunge/.

For many people, true love doesn't mean candlelight, a box of chocolate or even a romantic partner. A plethora of individuals consider true love to be a bowl full of noodles and cheese, which is exactly why the Time Out Event Center is hosting its first-ever "Mac 'n' Cheese Cookoff."

Treat your Valentine to a real meal with a variety of homemade mac and cheese dishes for just $5. Alternatively, individuals can register to compete for $10. To register visit form.jotform.com/.The cookoff runs from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Time Out Event Center, located at 3414 S. 22nd St.

For those who crave a little more elegance for Valentine's Day, the Saint Joseph Symphony's final chamber concert is the perfect date night.

This season's Symphony Minis will conclude over the weekend on a romantic note with a recital performed by the concertmaster, Dr. Chun-Chien Chuang, on the violin.Dr. Chuang's husband, Dr. John Villaveces, will join her on the piano. The duo chose pieces composed by some composers of the 19th century, who are considered some of the most romantic tunesmiths of all time.

The symphony begins at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, at Ashland United Methodist Church, located at 2711 Ashland Ave. Tickets can be purchased online at sainjosephsymphony.org.
