There’s less than a week to go before Christmas and everyone is tying up their last minute shopping and putting the finishing touches on their celebrations.

There are several activities planned for this weekend in St. Joseph, including the annual Tutu Trot, a Battle of the Bands event and the annual Symphony Holiday Cheer concert.

This year’s Tutu Trot will begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21 in Krug Park, located at 3500 St. Joseph Ave.

The Tutu Trot is an untimed race where individuals or families can walk, skip, strut, stride or any other sort of motion to move forward, while dressed in a tutu enjoying the scenery of Holiday Park.

A special guest will appear at this year’s Tutu Trot, Santa will be handing out hot cocoa at 4:30 p.m. before the race begins at 5 p.m.

The proceeds from this year’s event will go toward St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
