This weekend, St. Joseph residents will have the rare opportunity to relive their youth with a variety of holiday activities and entertainment. This week’s edition of See St. Joseph dives into Christmas traditions, Hanukkah celebrations and magical experiences.

Robidoux Resident Theatre has dared the St. Joseph community to come face to face with a satyr, a talking lion, an evil witch and, of course, a magical wardrobe. RRT is bringing the beloved storybook characters of “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe” to life. Relive the adventures in Narnia with Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy as they talk to animals, walk with trees and battle the White Witch. The show is on stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday this and next weekend at the Ruby Theatre, located at 615 S. 10th St. Tickets can be purchased online at rrtstjoe.org.

The Dance Arts Center is bringing a classic Christmas story to the Missouri Theater this weekend with its production of “The Nutcracker.” Share in Clara’s adventures as she meets the Mouse Queen, turns a nutcracker into a princess and experiences Christmas around the world. Discover the magic at 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Missouri Theater. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at jomotickets.com.

The Wyeth Tootle Mansion is hosting its annual American Girl Doll tea party this weekend. Last year we learned about the Swedish immigrant Kirsten and her favorite holiday, Saint Lucia’s Day. This year, we’ll learn about Russian Jewish immigrant Rebecca Rubin and her family’s celebration of Hanukkah. American Girl crafts, Hanukkah snacks and holiday festivities await all who attend the tea party. It begins at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Wyeth-Tootle Mansion, 1100 Charles St. This event has limited seating, so those interested should reserve a spot quickly at stjosephmuseum.org.
