St. Joseph will be kicking off the new season with hayrides, not-so-spooky movies and a run through the parkway system. This week’s edition of See St. Joseph has everything to welcome autumn.

With the cooler temperatures, it is the perfect time to go out for a run and what better occasion to do so than the second annual St. Joseph Marathon.

Join in on a literal run through St. Joseph’s history. Starting in Civic Center Park, runners will run from the north to south end of town, see historic landmarks and parkway system in all of its autumn-glory. The marathon includes four races: the 5k, 10k, half-marathon and the full-marathon. The marathon also supports the growth and development of the Junior League of St. Joseph, the organizers of Cinderella’s Closet, Hope Totes and more. The half and full marathon begin at 7 a.m. Saturday with the 5k and 10k following at 7:30 a.m. in Civic Center Park. To register for the marathon, visit https://stjomosports.com/event/marathon/.

Friends of Krug Park is hosting its last “After Dark in the Park” movie this season and it promises to bring screams and laughter.

Enjoy the amphitheater in all its glory with a free showing of “Monsters Inc.” Concessions of popcorn and soda will be available for $1 each. Guests are encouraged to wear warm clothes and bring a blanket if weather is cooler. After Dark in the Park begins 8 p.m. Saturday at the Krug Amphitheater.

Ricky Dean’s has created a new St. Joseph tradition this year with their 1st annual Fall Spectacular.

St. Joseph residents can look forward to all of the fall essentials including hayrides, caramel apples and lots of pumpkins. There will also be some of St. Joseph’s favorite vendors, a petting zoo, warm drinks and more. The Fall Spectacular goes from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at Ricky Dean’s.There is a lot more to look forward to in St. Joseph this autumn, so tune in to News-Press NOW every Thursday for more See St. Joseph.
