St. Joseph is going all out this weekend for the Easter holiday. This week’s edition of See St. Joseph lines up egg hunts for children, adults and even dogs.

Harvest Church will be turning up the volume on Friday, March 29, with the Great Awakening Christian Rap concert. For one night only, Fairview Golf Course will welcome Kansas City artists Sent-one, Fatha’ Figga’ and God’s Disciple. The concert hopes to use rap music as a means to evangelize, teach and encourage others to visit a church. The show begins at 7 p.m. Friday at the Fairview Golf Course clubhouse, 3302 Pacific St.

A very special guest will be in town this Easter weekend, and he’ll be making a stop at the Wyeth Tootle Mansion this Saturday, March 30, for Easter at the Mansion. And rumor has it, he will bring treats. The Easter Bunny will be making a special visit setting up fun activities, a family photo booth and much more. The event includes kid’s crafts, a petting zoo, face painting and admission to three floors of exhibits at the mansion. Everyone will get to leave with a prize at the end of the fun. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wyeth Tootle Mansion, 1100 Charles St.

Krug Park is going to be flooded with hundreds of hidden Easter eggs on Saturday, March 30. But those eggs aren’t for kids — they’re for dogs. Returning for its 17th hunt, UPCO’s annual Paws Only Egg Hunt for Dogs will be held at Krug Park at the top of the bowl at 10 a.m. Saturday. Treat your dog to something sweet as he sniffs his way to a happy Easter. There’s even going to be goodie bags and prize drawings at this free event. All dogs must be on a leash and good-tempered.

Thrift World is hosting its own Easter celebration with a St. Joseph scavenger hunt. Of course, it’s not a celebration without the Easter Bunny and an egg hunt. Luckily, Thrift World will have both from 9 to 11 a.m. and then again from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 30 at 137 N. Belt Highway Suite B. Afterwards, grab your keys and hit the road because 12 businesses throughout St. Joseph have hidden eggs in their shops for you to find.

“I love working with different businesses,” Thrift World store manager Heather Wesp said. “I started calling around to smaller businesses around town, asking if they’d like to participate and they said ‘Yeah.’ It’s just a way for us to help each other. I just like the community part of it and being able to all of us join together for one thing.”

The scavenger hunt begins at 11 a.m. Saturday starting at Thrift World and ending who knows where!

Be sure to tune in to See St. Joseph every Thursday for more entertainment, activities and performances in our hometown.
