With the warm weather ahead, St. Joseph is gearing up for a fun-filled and sun-filled weekend. Comedy shows, art exhibitions and more all await in this week’s edition of See St. Joseph.

The weekend kicks off with some laughs with The Den, 519 Felix St., hosting its first comedy show. Dan Rathmann and special guests Adam Brown and Brady Willis will be joking the night away starting 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23. There is no cover charge for the show so all seating is open. Attendees must be 21 years and older.

The Albrecht-Kemper Museum of Art, 2818 Frederick Ave., is holding a reception Sunday afternoon for the opening of the Regional High School Exhibition. For more than 40 years, the Albrecht-Kemper has been showcasing the talent of high school artists in Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas. A “Best of Show” award will be presented along with honors for artists in each category. The free exhibition will be on view from Feb. 25 to April 14. Artists, peers, family members and the community are invited to celebrate the opening of this annual tradition.

The St. Joseph Community Chorus is so ecstatic about Black History Month that they’re singing about it. The chorus is collaborating with the William Baker Festival Singers to celebrate the music of African American composers. This free concert will feature music created by Stacy Gibbs, Alice Parker, Reginal Wright and Moses Hogan. The celebration begins at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, at First Presbyterian Church, 301 N. Seventh St.

St. Joseph will be eating local with the beginning of Restaurant Week, which runs through Sunday, March 3. Restaurant Week was designed to encourage customer loyalty, raise public awareness by attracting new customers and increase foot traffic during a slow time of year for the restaurant industry. This week attracts new customers to participating restaurants with food specials and showcasing food items as well as exclusive menus of fan favorites. Foodies can savor and save on new dining options or tried-and-true favorites. Information about participating restaurants and specials can be found at www.stjrestaurantweek.com.

With all of these events and performances, there’s no reason not to go out and enjoy St. Joseph. Keep an eye out for more performances and events in the next edition of See St. Joseph.
