Traffic is shown flowing along Interstate 29 from the Cook Road Bridge. Interstate 29 will be closed in both directions for most of the day Tuesday to keep motorists and crews safe as work is done on the bridge.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- Several ramps along Interstate 29 north of St. Joseph will be closed on Tuesday.

Four ramps to I-29 and Interstate 229 in Andrew County will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 1 due to a resurfacing project. They include :

  • Southbound I-29 to I-229 (Exit 56B)
  • South Route 59 to southbound I-29
  • Southbound I-29 to northbound Route 59 (Exit 56A)
  • Northbound I-229 to southbound I-29 (Exit 14A)

The work is being done by Herzog Contracting Corp. for the Missouri Department of Transportation. Drivers won't be able to use the ramps during the closure and should use an alternate route.

The work will be done as long as the weather permits.
