Three injured in Avenue City crash

AVENUE CITY, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- Three St. Joseph residents are injured, one seriously, after a Monday night collision in Avenue City, Missouri.

Troopers report the accident occurred just after 6 p.m. Monday at the intersection of U.S. Route 169 and Route D, just down the street from Avenue City Elementary School.

A St. Joseph woman driving north on Route W failed to yield when crossing 169. A pickup truck driving south hit her rear passenger-side door, causing her car to skid off the road.

She was not wearing a seat belt and suffered serious injuries.

The two St. Joseph men in the truck did not have seat belts on and suffered minor injuries.

All three were taken to Mosaic Life Care via ambulance, according to the crash report.
