Four people are being treated for injuries following a crash Monday morning on Interstate 35 south of Cameron, Missouri.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, a 74-year-old man from Chillicothe, Missouri, was driving southbound on I-35 as a 78-year-old female from Gatesville, Texas, was driving north. At about 10:30 a.m., the man lost control on the ice- and snow-covered roadway, crossed the median and entered the northbound lanes of I-35.

The front of the man’s vehicle struck the front of the woman’s vehicle before stopping and blocking both lanes of northbound I-35. The Chillicothe man had received minor injuries in the crash, while a 65-year-old female passenger had moderate injuries. Both were transported to Cameron Regional Medical Center.

The Texas woman and an 85-year-old male passenger, also from Gatesville, sustained serious injuries and were transported to Liberty Hospital.

All those injured in the accident were wearing seat belts, the patrol report said.
