Two seriously injured in Clinton County crash Sunday

Two Excelsior Springs women were hospitalized after a Clinton County crash Sunday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the collision occurred just after 3:30 p.m. on I-35 South, two miles north of Holt, Missouri.

A 42-year-old Ames, Iowa woman swerved left to avoid a dog in the road and hit a car occupied by two Excelsior Springs women in the passing lane.

The Iowa driver avoided harm, but the Excelsior Springs women, aged 56 and 66, were taken to Liberty Hospital with serious injuries.

Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt, according to the crash report.
