An equipment donation from a federal law enforcement association is bolstering resources at the Trenton, Missouri, Police Department.

The department received three rifle plate/active shooter kits from the United States Deputy Sheriff’s Association.

“The kits are absolutely invaluable,” Trenton police officials said on the department’s Facebook page. “Ensuring the safety of our police officers is our highest priority, and thanks to the USDSA, we have been able to enhance that protective measure.”

The new equipment allows police officers to navigate high-risk situations safely, lowers the chances of them not returning home to their families after each shift and helps them to better serve the community.

The Trenton PD shared that through partnerships with organizations like the USDSA, the department is consistently upgrading its ability to serve the community.
