Three injured in Sunday crash near Maryville

Three people suffered serious injuries Sunday in a crash north of Maryville, Missouri.

The collision happened at 11:35 a.m. on U.S. 71 about a mile north of Maryville when Doris Hagey, 87, Burlington Junction, who was driving south, turned into the path of a northbound vehicle, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. The driver of the second vehicle, Jered Smith, 57, and his passenger, Levi Smith, 27, both of Maryville, received serious injuries and they were taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.

Hagey had moderate injuries and also was taken to Mosaic in St. Joseph. Everyone was wearing seat belts, the report said.
