Richmond teen seriously injured in Caldwell County crash

An 18-year-old suffered serious injuries early Sunday morning after the 15-year-old driver of the vehicle he was in lost control and traveled off the road.

Gabriel Baker, 18, of Richmond, was a passenger in a 2000 Chevrolet S10 on Southwest Austin Drive near Mirabile when the driver, a 15-year-old girl, was traveling too fast for conditions and traveled off the road, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol crash reports. The vehicle struck several trees before coming to rest.

Baker was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center by private vehicle for serious injuries.

Baker was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to crash reports. The driver was wearing a seat belt.
