One man is in critical condition and a second is under arrest following a shooting Wednesday night in Midtown St. Joseph.

Police were called to the Speedy’s Convenience Store at 1704 Mitchell Ave. at about 9:40 p.m. where they found a 40-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds, said Capt. Jeff Wilson of the St. Joseph Police Department. He said the man drove to the convenience store after being shot at a nearby location.

An officer assisted the victim until an ambulance crew could arrive, Wilson said. Shortly after, police found a 20-year-old suspect nearby and arrested him, he said, and they also recovered a gun.

The names of the victim and the suspect have not been released.
