A 23-year-old man was hospitalized with serious injuries after a single-vehicle crash 3 miles north of Bethany, Missouri.

Nicholas Anders, of Sedalia, Missouri, was southbound on Interstate 35 in a 2017 Mack tractor-trailer just after midnight Wednesday when he traveled off the side of the road and struck a guardrail, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol crash reports.

The truck then struck a concrete barrier and a bridge pillar before coming to rest.

Anders was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center and then to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City for serious injuries.

He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to reports.
