Man suffers serious injuries in motorcycle crash late Friday

A Fillmore, Missouri, man was seriously injured after crashing his motorcycle and leaving the scene late Friday night.

Kiefer Gillenwater, 27, of Fillmore, was southbound on Route H near Fillmore in a 2005 Yamaha WR 450F when he lost control and the vehicle fell on its side and slid, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol crash reports.

Gillenwater was ejected and left the crash scene, crash reports said, and he was found 2 miles south.

He was taken by EMS to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, he was arrested on suspicion of several things, including driving while intoxicated and careless driving.
