Missouri mobile traveler map gets key update

The Missouri Department of Transportation’s Traveler Information Map is now accessible on internet browsers on mobile devices.
This update allows the map to be displayed on mobile devices without having to download the Traveler Information App and provides drivers with traffic updates, road conditions, closures and winter road updates.
As of 2023, the map saw more than 7 million active users, and officials hope to continue bringing updates to help travelers plan accordingly and avoid traffic interruptions.
“A lot of drivers are traveling across the state and not everybody that does, lives in Missouri,” said Becky Allmeroth, MoDOT chief safety and operations officer. “There’s a lot of business as well utilizing a business cell phone and they may not have the opportunity to download an app. It’s very important to have that mobile platform through an Internet browser so that we can get all the roadway and other important information to more users without that barrier being there any longer.”
Although this feature was implemented for more flexibility to all mobile device users, travelers still can use the mobile app as it will provide the same up-to-date information.
“We know it’s a great product and we listen to the customers and those travelers to see what enhancements we need to make,” Allmeroth said. So, we’ve added additional layers and you can go there just to get your weather and see if it’s raining in a certain location or if it’s snowing. So it’s kind of a one-stop shop for anybody that’s traveling across the state of Missouri.”
The app can be installed on both Android and Apple devices.
