I-29 shooting victim died of apparent suicide

The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office said a male who was found dead in his vehicle over the weekend died of an apparent suicide.

The death occurred overnight on the shoulder of the road near I-29 and DD Highway on Saturday, July 13, while the victim, who was a 32-year-old male, was in his vehicle.

Law enforcement received information from a relative requesting a well-being check on the man headed home to Arkansas, according to Buchanan County Sheriff Bill Puett.
