Woman arrested after being found with 20 pounds of meth

The Buchanan County Drug Strike Force and its law enforcement partners took a woman into custody Monday after seizing nearly 20 pounds of methamphetamine from a vehicle.

Sheriff Bill Puett said in a press release that the arrest was made through assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the St. Joseph Police Department.

On Monday, law enforcement conducted a stop of a vehicle believed to have connections with an investigation of meth distribution.

Drug Strike Force K-9 Blaize assisted in conducting the search of the vehicle and located nearly 20 pounds of methamphetamine, according to the release.

Puett said a 37-year-old female was taken into custody. A 3-month-old infant was in the vehicle at the time of the stop.

The investigation is ongoing and the case will be submitted for review and consideration of charges, according to the release.
