Crash near Altamont leaves woman with serious injuries

A Cameron, Missouri, woman received serious injuries in an accident Sunday morning in Daviess County.
The accident happened just after 10 a.m. on March 17 near the U.S. 69 ramp about four miles west of Altamont, Missouri. A car driven by Cathleen Dedonder, 61, of Topeka, Kansas, was southbound on a ramp and failed to stop at a stop sign while crossing U.S. 69 and was hit by a truck driven by Melissa Lee, 37 of Cameron, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Lee’s vehicle then hit a guardrail.
Lee received serious injuries in the crash and was taken to Liberty Hospital. A 13-year-old boy in her truck had minor injuries and went to Cameron Regional Medical Center. Both were wearing seat belts, according to the patrol report.
