A 29-year-old man was hospitalized for serious injuries after a single-vehicle crash early Wednesday just south of Maryville, Missouri.

Thomas Howard, of Parnell, Missouri, was eastbound on County Road 268 in a 2018 Buick Enclave when he failed to navigate an intersection and went off the side of the road, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol crash reports.

The vehicle then went airborne, struck a sign and an embankment and began to overturn before coming to rest on its wheels.

Howard was taken to Mosaic Life Care in Maryville by private vehicle. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, according to crash reports.
