Two injured in early morning crashes

One person sustained minor injuries and another was seriously injured in crashes Thursday morning on Interstate 29, four miles south of St. Joseph.
Mulin Celestin, 40, of Miami, was northbound on I-29 at about 1:07 a.m. near mile marker 40.8 when he lost control of a 2024 International semi. The semi overturned, struck the cable barrier and came to rest on its left side facing north, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.
Shortly after, at about 1:30 a.m., Norris S. Davis, 62, of Grandview, Missouri, was traveling north on I-29 near mile marker 40.8 in a 2021 Freightliner semi when he struck the rear of a 2024 Freightliner parked on the shoulder of the median. Sean R. Wilson, 39, of Ankeny, Iowa, was the other driver.
Davis’ semi and its towed units were pushed off of the roadway, according to the crash report.
Celestin had minor injuries and Davis sustained serious injuries. Both were taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
Celestin and Davis were wearing seat belts, the reports said.
