Your letters for Aug. 16, 2024

By the numbers

Did you realize that our current congress (House and Senate members)-have 16 that are 80 years old or older; 92 that are 70-79; 171 that are 60-69; 164 that are 60-69; 127 that are 40-49; 53 that are 30-39; and 1 that is 20-29. Do not forget to add the president that is in the 80+ group — with the oldest members, two members at 89! House Dems average 58 years and Reps average 56. The Senate Dems at 65, Reps at 62. Think Harris better get those yellow buses ready to load!

According to the “Profile of the Unauthorized Population” report, we have taken in illegals from these countries: Mexico, El-Salvador, Guatemala, India, Honduras, Central America- Caribbean, S. America, Asia, Africa, Europe, Canada, Oceania, China, Philippines, Vietnam, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Korea and Venezuela. Roughly 20 countries.

Suggested new immigration laws:

There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools.

All ballots will be in this nation’s language.

All government business will be conducted in our language.

Non-residents will not have the right to vote no matter how long they are here.

Non-citizens will never be able to hold political office.

Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food stamps, no health care, or any other government assistance programs. Any who are a burden will be deported.

Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount at least equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.

If foreigners come here and buy land, their options will be restricted. Certain parcels including waterfront property are reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.

Foreigners may have no protests, no demonstrations, no waving of a foreign flag, no political organizing and no bad-mouthing our president or his policies. These will lead to deportation.

If you do come to this country illegally, you will be actively hunted and, when caught, sent to jail until your deportation can be arranged. All assets will be taken from you.

Too strict? The above laws are the current immigration laws of Mexico!

If it’s good for Americans to obey Mexican laws, then it’s good vice versa!

“The problems we face today exist because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by those who vote for a living.”

U.S. border arrests: 2017 – 8,531; 2018 – 6,698; 2019 — 4,269; 2020 – 2,438; 2021 – 10,763; 2022 – 12,028; 2023 – 15,267; 2024 YTD – 14,000.

St. Joseph

They don’t stand

What follows are song lyrics, but the message is important.

Strong values are visible

In a prosperous society

Their worth unwavering and steadfast

A sanctuary so worth of notice

We see a turn around

Trending toward darkness

Losing faith in core principals

Neglecting the love of our Creator

Uncertainty is taking over

They don’t stand up

And engage when needed

Their standards are trampled

So last and fleeting

They don’t stand

Courage will speak volumes

We have the power

To ignite and change

We live in an upside-down world

Values have bottomed

Foolish ideas are elevated

A mixture ill conceived

Honor and patriotism

Must be reborn

Weakness replaced with strength

Our guard on duty

At all times

Yes it’s an upside-down world

Too many negatives

Positives are absent

A formula ill conceived

Truth must be permanent

Deception eliminated

Representation, honest and forthright

All for the public good

Our history, flag and anthem

Should be revered

Held up high

For all to see

We ask for our Lord’s blessings

And His saving graces

To ward of bad influence

And remain faithful

Courage will need volume

Our power will then awaken

To ignite and change

We must stand together

With respect and attention

We must stand

We will stand
