Celebrating laboratory professionals

The week of April 15th is celebrated as national laboratory professionals week. Working in clinical and research labs throughout the world, these individuals perform tests on blood and tissue to help medical professionals treat patients. Over 75% of treatment decisions are made based on laboratory results.

I have been fortunate to work with several such caring and dedicated people in St. Joseph, Maryville, Liberty and Kansas City. This year we were honored by an official proclamation by Governor Parson’s office, which goes a long way in recognizing the work of lab professionals in Missouri.

Laboratory testing offers exciting career opportunities and include phlebotomists that require graduation from high school, clinical lab scientists (aka medical and histology technologists) that require a diploma or undergrad in health sciences, and clinical and anatomic pathologists that require advanced training after medical school. Newer jobs include molecular testing and AI. The Buchanan County Medical Society offers scholarships to support students in lab medicine programs (tinyurl.com/bcmsmlpa).

Biden’s

master plan

I think I have the master Biden plan on our illegal immigration problem, you know, the problem where 8-10 million illegal immigrants have crossed our closed border over the last 3+ years.

First, let me state this: illegal = “contrary to or forbidden by law. No voting rights in federal elections.”

They have discovered how to play the board game of “Monopoly.” They have adapted this game to access entry to our southern borders with great success. Let me explain how it works.

The game has squares, one being “pass goal.” You get to collect $200.00 when you land on it. But today, the square is the U.S.A., and it is a lot more than $200. You think I am kidding? Somebody is putting $450 billion a year in their pockets.

Now, let us take a closer look at the game board and see what else might match what they are getting for just walking across the border. Mind you that as these millions crossing, they are not being tested for diseases, weapons, carrying drugs, if they have a record, belong to a gang or cartel, child or women trafficking, have a warrant out on them, Hamas or terrorist organization or being wanted by law enforcement (guess that is no longer a factor, with catch and release, defunding the police and ICE). Sure, they will come back for their hearing in a year or so! And if they need medicine just call Dr. Fauci, he will get you some PDQ!

The board even has a square “go to jail, do not pass goal” — pay no attention to that. We hardly use them anymore and you still get your money.

Sorry, back to using the board. There are four railroad companies on the board. If they land on them — free bus, train, plane rides to their choice of destinations. Free! Ever heard of such a thing?

Also, there are utility companies and many hotels and houses on the board — land on them and free lodging, utilities paid, food provided, medical, phones, iPads and best a debit card, get free hospitals if needed — wow, this really is the land of milk and honey for some!

Those homeless and vets currently in those rooms they take over can go somewhere else. This government wants illegals in there so we can fill out some voting forms and make it easier for them to connect them at the right time. What does 2,000 mules mean?

Just think. Butter up to the thousands of Chinese coming in. They know what to do and where to go. Just follow them; they are the ones carrying the big balloons across the borders, phones and all likes of electronics, you know, more poor people being oppressed.

America, the land of “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness”. But for whom?
