It’s Your Call for Jan. 14

Shame they can’t keep it up
The city’s done a pretty good job with the snow removal, but down in the South End, off King Hill, is a street called Cherokee, and it runs right along the InterServ and then right on past the VFW down the street. It hasn’t been bladed or cleaned or anything, and it’s 90% of 65 years and older people go to both places. It’s a shame they can’t keep that up.
Need a contact method
I’ve seen the story on News-Press NOW about the guys with the chess club, and I might be interested in that, but I don’t have Facebook, so I need an address or a phone number or some way I can contact them other than social media. Thank you very much. If that would be possible.
Editor’s note: As reported in the print story, those interested in chess tutoring or joining the chess club can reach Baldwin at 605-212-8061.
Have you no decency?
President-elect Trump and his supporters, including his billionaire buddies, have been busy playing the blame game during one of the most devastating tragedies in our country’s history. As the GOP so fondly reminds us after a mass shooting, this is not the time to talk about this. A question for President-elect Trump and his supporters, as Joseph Wells, special counsel for the U.S. Army, asked Sen. Joseph McCarthy on June 9, 1954: Have you no sense of decency?
Role model
Jimmy Carter was eulogized as an honorable man who obeyed the laws. He was a good Christian humanitarian who respected everyone and practiced service to others throughout his life, leaving the world a better place. Let’s hope future presidents will strive to be such wonderful role models.
