Frederick John Lederer III, 54, of St. Joseph, passed away on Feb. 15, 2025. He was born in St. Joseph, on July 12, 1970. He was baptized at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church where he attended school until going to Savannah R III. He played football, wrestling, and gymnastics. He also was in the building trade, a skill he learned from his father and grandfather, Fred Lederer Sr., which he used his entire adult life, building several homes in the area. He graduated from Savannah R III in 1988. He loved music, he came from a musical family, learned to play guitar from his father, a skill he was teaching his granddaughter, Rio. He enjoyed fishing the river and the lake, camping and mushroom hunting with his children. He found a passion and love for making jewelry. He looked after his grandparents, Fred and Marie Lederer, until their death.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eric Lederer and Bobby Clinton; and his niece, Erica Lederer.

Survivors include daughter, Meggin (Skylar) Cline; son, Justin Lederer; grandchildren, Rio and Creek Cline, Brandi Clemens (mother of his children and lifelong friend) all of Albany, Missouri; mother Carmen (George) Clinton, Edwards, Missouri; father, Fred Lederer Jr. (Wanda); sisters, April (Eric) Wilson, and Jessica (Anthony) Olvera; and partner Lora, all of St. Joseph.

The Rosary was held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home, where the family received friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Rupp Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Lake of the Ozarks, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to the Bell Tower at St. Patrick’s Church.
