Hatheway Jr., Elmer L. 1967-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Elmer L. Hatheway Jr. “Mo”, 57, of St Joseph, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025, at his home. He was born July 25, 1967, in St. Joseph, son of Billie and Elmer Hatheway.

Elmer married Donna Lee on Sept. 5, 1996, in St. Joseph. He worked at the City of St. Joseph as an Equipment Operator.

Elmer enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with and spoiling his grandkids. He was a lover of motorcycles and Ford trucks. He will be remembered for cooking for his family gatherings and he was a friend to all. Elmer also enjoyed and was a member of the CB Radio Community, going by the handle “Knightrider”.

Elmer was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include: wife, Donna Hatheway, of the home; children, Brooke (Shawn) Bode and their three children, Cody (Sara) Hatheway and their three children, Krista (Colby) Head and their child, Patience (Jesse) Chitwood and their three children, Courtney (David) Powell and their four children, Gabrielle Hatheway (Nathan Hall) and their three children, and Serena Hatheway and her child on the way; siblings, Belinda (Willie) Petitt, Debra (Roger) Neill, Lena (Gary) Fetters, Everett Hatheway, Billy (Nancy) Hatheway, Ronnie Hatheway, and Ricky (Sandy) Hatheway; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will follow services at Bethel Cemetery in Cosby, Missouri. Memorials are requested to a Children’s Hospital of the donor’s choice.
