Ham, R. Steve 1954-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Robert “Steve” Ham, 70, St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2025. He was born Dec. 2, 1954, in St. Joseph. He grew up in the North End, attending Lindbergh Elementary and Lafayette High School.
He worked as a steelworker at Shamrad Metal Fabricators.
Steve loved softball, mushroom hunting, fishing, bowling, and camping. He especially loved spending time with family, where memories were made with game nights as well as Steve’s amazing air guitar skills and Donald Duck impersonation.
He was a genuinely kind man, always there when you needed him and a jack-of-all trades. He had a sweet heart and an ease about him that drew others to him.
The family wants to thank the nurses at St. Luke’s Hospice House, who gave him peace he hadn’t had in years and a beautiful homegoing.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Angela; sons, Robert Shawn Ham and Stephen Christopher Ham; siblings, Chuck Ham (Dora), Russ LaFave (Deb), Mark LaFave (Marla), Chris LaFave (Marsha), and Lynn Halter (Mark); nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren; treasured extended family: mother-in-law, Sandy Plfugradt; sister-in-law, Jennifer Stade (Dan); and brother-in-law, Scott Holland (Angela); and loving friends.
