Crockett, Cherie S. 1953-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Cherie Sue Crockett, age 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on April 11, 1953, to Jean and Henry Mattice, in St. Joseph.

Cherie graduated from Benton High School and later married the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Crockett, in December of 1971.

Cherie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her loving heart and beautiful spirit were evident to all who knew her. Cherie’s radiant smile and infectious warmth could light up any room, and she cherished every moment spent with her family. Among her many joys were trips to the beach, traveling, and making lasting memories with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Chuck Crockett; son, Charles Crockett II (Wendy); daughters, Heidi Feiden (Steve) and Ashley Kalin (Scott); 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Cherie is also survived by three sisters, two brothers, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who were deeply loved by her.

Cherie’s faith was her guiding light, and it brought her peace throughout her life. Her strength and unwavering trust in God were evident in everything she did.

Celebration of Life 1 p.m. Wednesday, King Hill Christian Church. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
