James E. McQueen, 84, of St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2025, at his home. He was born Feb. 13, 1941, in St. Joseph, son of Virginia and Hensley McQueen.

Jim graduated from Benton High School, class of 1959. Jim worked for Armour’s and Quaker Oats. Jim was a great athlete, pitched multiple no-hit ball games and bowled many 300, perfect score games. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and collecting coins. Some his favorite times were the birth of his children and spending time with his family. He was a member of USBC Hall of Fame, ABC Bowling League, Eagles Lodge and part of the Quaker Old Timers.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerry, Steve and Joe McQueen.

Survivors include children, Julie Mollett, of St. Joseph, Jamie (Mike) Blommaert, of Mokena, Illinois, James Jr. (Tracy) McQueen, of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Brandon, C.J., Chance, David, Isaac, Seth, Bethany, Kayle and Lindsee; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. McQueen has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. A Celebration of his Life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Revolution Lanes, in St. Joseph. Memorials are requested to the Lake Contrary Development Association.
