Claycomb, Matthew J. 1983-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Matthew J. Claycomb, 41, of St. Joseph, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, March 16, 2025, at his home. He was born Nov. 10, 1983, in St. Joseph, son of Sheila (Barmann) and Thomas Claycomb.

Matt graduated from Central High School and he worked as an in-home caregiver.

Matt was an avid horror enthusiast, an 80’s rock music fan and loved working on cars. He enjoyed spending time with his girls, his cats and going fishing and mushroom hunting.

Survivors include mother, Sheila Barmann, of St Josep; father, Thomas Claycomb, of Tampa, Florida; his longtime companion, Tisha Hinojosa, of the home and her children Jaeden, Aubrieanna and Izabella Hinojosa; daughter, MaKenzie Claycomb and her mother Katie Hamaker, of Murrayville, Georgia; daughter, Maizy Claycomb and her mother Courtney Cruz, of St. Joseph; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and lots of extended family.

Funeral Service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday and a Rosary will be held at 5:30 p.m. Mr. Claycomb will be cremated following services. Memorials are requested to the Matt Claycomb Memorial Fund, c/o Rupp Funeral Home.
