Luna, Benjamin P. 1993-2025 Maryville, Mo.

MARYVILLE, Mo. – Benjamin Paul Luna, of Maryville, Missouri, was born Aug. 17, 1993, and left this world to walk the streets of gold with Jesus on March 11, 2025. Ben grew up in Mound City, Missouri, where he graduated from high school in 2012.
Ben graduated from Missouri Western State University in 2016 with a degree in Wildlife Conservation. Ben dedicated his career to conservation as a soil conservationist while working for the United States Department of Agriculture and NRCS.
He lived out his passion to protect and preserve the land that he loved.
The outdoors was Ben’s special place whether he was fishing at Luna’s pond, camping under the stars, kayaking down a river, or hunting in the woods, Ben found peace and joy in nature. He loved wildlife, chasing animals down, and catching them. Ben was an avid golfer, a video gamer, and had a deep connection with music. His striking blue eyes and big smile could light up a room.
His kind heart and adventurous spirit made him a cherished son, brother, husband, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Mara Veasey; loving parents, John and Paula Luna; brother, David Luna, his sister-in-law, Morgan Luna; little sister, Ava Grace Luna; his grandparents, Duane and Jennie Luna of Mound City, Missouri, and P.D. and Nora Monroe, of Craig, Missouri; paternal aunts and uncles, Rev. Phil and Rhonda Rhoades and Perry and Crysti Luna; maternal aunts and uncles, Leslee and Nancy Monroe, Ken and Barbara Quick, and Mark and Rebecca Monroe; his dog, Lilly; his father- in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Michele Veasey; as well as beloved cousins, friends, and second family, Scott, Karen, Emily, and Hannah Wedlock; his dog, Lilly; as well as his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Michele Veasey.
A time of joy and remembrance will be shared with the public on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 4 to 6 p.m. at River of Hope Fellowship, 27765 Hwy 159 Forest City, MO 64451. His celebration of life will be Friday, March 21, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the same location. Ben will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery in Mound City.
As an organ donor, Ben has generously given the gift of life to many. His beautiful eyes and loving heart will live on to shine in others.
Ben’s memory will live on in the places he loved, the waters he fished, the hearts of those who knew him, and the lives of those he impacted.
