Crowl, Kevin M. 1970-2025 St. Joseph, Mo.

Kevin Michael Crowl, 54, of St. Joseph, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at his home. He was born March 15, 1970, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Stella and Richard Crowl.

Kevin married Melissa Swartz on Oct. 21, 1995, and she survives him at their home.

He graduated from Central High School and pursued a career in the heavy highway construction industry as a Foreman and Superintendent.

Kevin was an avid collector of many things. He was most passionate about his Goetz Country club collection. He was a heavy metal enthusiast also collecting vinyl albums and 80’s arcade games.

He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Kathleen D. Crowl; and his granddaughter, Mila Grace Swartz.

Surviving Kevin are his beloved wife, Melissa Crowl of their home; his father, Richard “Dick” Crowl, of St. Joseph; his mother, Stella Johnston, of St. Joseph; his daughter, Ariel Swartz and her husband, Shelby, of Smithville, Missouri; his grandchildren, Kenadee, Charli, and Liam Swartz; and his sister, Kelly Crowl, of Berthoud, Colorado.

A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held from 4 to 6 p.m on Friday, March 21, 2025, at the Rupp Funeral Home.
