Marvin “Dan” Daniel Harmon, 78, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2025, in a St. Joseph hospital. He was born April 21, 1946, in Albany, Missouri, son of the late Carrie and Frankie Harmon.

Dan was an over the road truck driver for many years. He served in the Army during the Vietnam era, the United States Air Guard retiring from the U.S. Air Force as a Tech Sargeant. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing Santa Claus for 39 years at the Noyes Home and for other organizations. Dan took great pride participating with graveside military honors, and spending time with his family. He was a member of Marine Corp League, Freedom of the Road Riders Local 6, the VFW, American Legion #359, and the Eagles Aerie Lodge #49.

Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki Lynn Harmon and his parents.

He is survived by children: Pam (Robbie) Betts, Sherry Harmon, Ricky (Roxanne) Harmon, and Terri Harmon, all of St. Joseph; sisters, Ruth Lee and Elva Morse; 23 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home, Funeral services and public live stream: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025, Pastor Will Purinton officiating. Military honors under the auspices of the Marine Corp League. Memorials are requested to the Noyes Home in the name of Santa Dan.
